Hideo Kojima and his Kojima Productions team recently unveiled a lot of new footage and details for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach at Tokyo Game Show, and Kojima also said he knows the game’s release date. Unfortunately for fans, though, he isn’t going to announce it until 2025.

Epic Games is investing $1.5 billion into Epic Games to create what sounds like a Disney metaverse within Fortnite, and now one of Disney’s top bosses has shared a few more details on the company’s plans.

Disney boss Josh D’Amaro–who is among the candidates to become Disney’s new CEO after Bob Iger leaves–told The Hollywood Reporter that Disney is planning to work with Epic to create “a place where you can play games, a place where you can be social, a place where users can generate their own content.”

Essentially, D’Amaro said Disney’s aim to create an entire “universe” where “all our stories can come to life.”

“They can come to life in different forms, [like] games. They can come to life in ways that you can just interact with and play with the franchise in a way that’s meaningful to you, a place where you can actually build,” he said. “And we think that this is going to be a place where all fans can come and interact 365 days a year.”

At D23, D’Amaro said Walt Disney himself was an “adventurer” and a “risk-taker,” going on to say what Disney is now trying to achieve through Fortnite is an extension of that spirit.

Deadpool and Wolverine tickets went on sale this week, and people seem to be very excited about the film and are snapping up tickets. Adam Aron, the CEO of movie theater giant AMC, said his company has already sold more than 200,000 tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine.

This includes more day-one ticket sales than any other R-rated movie in AMC’s history. Another high-profile ticket-seller, Fandango, earlier this week reported strong ticket sales for Deadpool and Wolverine. The Hollywood Reporter’s sources said Deadpool and Wolverine first-day ticket sale revenue could be as high as $9 million.

Deadpool and Wolverine releases on July 26 and could make more than $100 million for its opening weekend in the US. If it can reach those heights, it would be the first film of 2024 to pass $100 million in the US for its opening weekend.

For comparison, 2016’s Deadpool ($132.4 million) and 2018’s Deadpool 2 ($125 million) had the biggest R-rated opening-weekend results at the domestic box office of their respective release years. Expectations are, naturally, high for Deadpool and Wolverine to live up to the hype.

Embracer has released its latest earnings briefing, and included in the report is some accounting for how the Alone in the Dark reboot performed commercially.

The company said the game didn’t do as well as it hoped (via IGN), recording “softer-than-expected performance.” Embracer used this language to describe the commercial performance of Alone in the Dark and Outcast: A New Beginning, both of which were published by THQ Nordic.

Between Joker: Folie à Deux, The Penguin, and Batman: Caped Crusader, 2024 has already been a banner year for DC’s Dark Knight. But now, it’s Robin’s turn to take the spotlight. Or more accurately, the Robins’ turn, since Batman’s first two sidekicks, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, are getting their own animated origin movie called Dynamic Duo.

Via Deadline, The Batman director Matt Reeves is producing Dynamic Duo–which has no connection to his Batman Epic Crime Saga universe–from a script by Matthew Aldrich. Actress Emily Blunt has said she is keen to return for another A Quiet Place movie, but only under certain circumstances. Speaking to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Blunt said she would only be interested if A Quiet Place II star Cillian Murphy and her husband, John Krasinski, return.

“Well, Cillian and I were having a chat with John about it last night. We were sitting on a rooftop all together, drinking wine and [saying], ‘You know what would be great? Is if we keep this thing going’ [laughs],” she said, as reported by GamesRadar. “I think it would have to be that we would all do it together. I don’t want it to be with a different director if we did it again.”

Blunt and Krasinski starred in the original A Quiet Place, and Krasinski also directed the movie. His character died in that film, and Murphy’s character debuted in the second film.
